EvenSplits York 5K

The York 5K is a monthly road running event held at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit. The course consists of a flat 5 km distance completed over five laps of the closed cycle circuit. The race is EA licensed and chip-timed, with results appearing on the Power of 10. Participants receive their finishing times via text message immediately upon completion, and detailed kilometre splits are provided the following day.

The event is held on a Friday evening and has an entry limit of 200 participants. Runners use a single race number with an embedded timing chip for the series, which is collected at registration during their first event of the year. Historically issued red race numbers from previous years may also be used. The event location at Heslington East includes distance markers, water, and toilet facilities; however, there are no changing rooms, showers, or baggage storage areas available on site.

Registration options include individual race entries for affiliated and unaffiliated runners, or multi-race passes for those participating in several events throughout the series. The course profile is entirely flat, designed to facilitate fast times on the asphalt surface. Every finisher receives a chocolate bar at the end of the race.
