Wetherby 10K : Wetherby Racecourse, West Yorkshire
The event is a chip timed 10 kilometre race held at Wetherby Racecourse. The course is described as flat, multi terrain and completed in one lap. The organisers provide a tail runner and there is no cut off time, so participants who move at a steady pace can be supported to finish.
Along the route there are friendly marshals, distance markers and a water station at the halfway point. Race timing is by Racebest and all finishers receive a commemorative large mug. Results are posted online within 48 hours. The organisers also provide professional medical cover, portaloo toilets stocked with sanitary products, and a large on site car park.
Additional race details include restrictions and services: the 10k is not suitable for wheelchair athletes, competitors must be at least 15 years old on race day, and earphones over or in the ear are prohibited while running though bone conducting earphones are permitted. Race fees are non refundable. A transfer service for entries is available through Racebest until 1 September.
A separate Mini Marathon of 1.6 miles takes place with on the day entry and no minimum age; children under seven must run with a fee paying parent or guardian. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
