York Triathlon : York Sport Village

The event takes place at York Sport Village on the Heslington campus of the university, close to York city centre, on Sunday 22 August 2027. The swim is pool based in a large heated indoor leisure complex pool. The bike and run courses are flat, multi-lapped and held on roads or routes closed to traffic and the public.

Swim start, transition and finish are all within close proximity at the venue. The event uses electronic chip timing and awards an official finishers medal to entrants. Competitors must count their own pool lengths and bike and run laps. It is compulsory to wear a cycle helmet on the cycle section.

Relay teams can consist of two or three people; each member completes one or two disciplines. Relay handovers use the electronic chip in the transition area and team members may cross the finish line together. Prize awards include first place in the Female Relay and first place in the Open/Mixed Relay categories.

The event offers several distance options and special waves, including a CRUK Wave that uses the shorter distances and donates £10 from each CRUK Wave entry to Cancer Research UK.
