Event overview
The Leeds 5K is a monthly 5 kilometre race held at the University of Leeds Brownlee Centre from February to November. The event is organised by Even Splits and is chip-timed with an England Athletics licence, with results appearing on Power of 10. Finish-line texts are sent as runners cross the line and mile splits are published the next day. Runners receive a chocolate bar at the finish. First-time entrants collect a race number with an embedded timing chip that can be reused at Leeds and York 5K events.
Course, facilities and entry
The course is 5 Kilometres, on road, flat and run over three laps. The event is suitable for wheelchairs. Facilities include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. Race headquarters is Brownlee Centre, Bodington Playing Fields, Bodington Avenue, Leeds LS16 8NA. Entry is limited to 200 runners and a race licence has been applied for.
Fees and policies
Single-race entry fees are: Affiliated £10.00, Unaffiliated £12.00. Season passes (Feb-Nov) are: Affiliated £65.00, Unaffiliated £78.00. Online entry closes at 10:00 on race day and entry on the day is not available. A place may be deferred once to the next race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and race places cannot be transferred. One free race-number replacement is allowed in a 12 month period; further replacements cost £4.
