Carry on in the Colliery
Carry on in the Colliery is a set of trail races held at Rabbit Ings Country Park in Barnsley, organised as part of the Yorkshire Colliery Weekend. The event offers multiple distance options on mainly off-road terrain and awards a finisher's medal at the finish.
The core route is a 5-mile loop used for lapped formats; each loop contains one short, steep climb that gives views over the local countryside. Races are licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules. A separate Canicross day includes a dog fun race, listed as the Canine Canter 5 miles and run under different rules than the other races.

Practical information includes parking at the country park carpark and public toilets on site. Feed stations are normally placed at around three-mile intervals and the event operates a cup-less approach, so participants are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle. Organisers provide downloadable GPX routes, note that not every corner will be marshalled, and caution that there may be unmarshalled road crossings. Large over-ear headphones are banned; bone-conducting or one-in-one-out earpieces are suggested if audio is required. Withdrawal, transfers and deferrals can be managed through event channels and marshals are the contact on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
