Race Overview
Chevin is (BS) is a Category BS fell race organized by Great Owl Running. The event occurs in Otley, West Yorkshire, and covers a distance of 10 km. The course is a single loop characterized by a hilly profile, featuring a total ascent of 390 metres. The route navigates through the Chevin Forest Park and surrounding areas, including technical sections and several significant climbs.
The Course
The race starts and finishes on Station Road. Participants encounter the first climb immediately upon starting, heading toward Surprise View. The route continues down to The West Gate before ascending again toward the Danefield climb. Runners then complete a loop of Poolscar Wood. The easternmost section of the course takes place at The Fells Plantation, where the path climbs alongside power lines. The final stages involve an ascent up Miller Lane followed by a descent down Jonny Lane back to the finish line on Station Road.
Facilities and Entry
Registration and post-race refreshments are located at The Black Horse pub, which features a courtyard for participants. The Race HQ is situated at the Station Top Car Park. Please note that the course does not have water stations or distance markers. There are no toilets, changing facilities, or showers available on-site. A baggage store is provided.
