We Need To Talk About Chevin is a fell race located in Otley, West Yorkshire. The event is classified as a Category BM fell race, covering a distance of 14 kilometres with a total ascent of 650 metres (2130 feet). The course consists of a single hilly lap through the Chevin and surrounding woodland areas. The race entry is limited to 200 participants and is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Course Details

The route begins on Station Road and features multiple steep sections and descents. The course includes the following milestones:

  • An immediate climb from the start toward Surprise View.
  • A descent to West Gate followed by a climb toward the Danefield section.
  • A loop through Poolscar Wood.
  • An ascent alongside power lines at The Fells Plantation.
  • A final climb up Miller Lane before descending Jonny Lane to return to the finish on Station Road.

Facilities and Logistics

Race headquarters are located at the Station Top Car Park in Otley. While the race starts and finishes on Station Road, registration and post-race refreshments are hosted at The Black Horse pub, which features a courtyard. Participants should note the following regarding facilities:

  • There are no toilet, changing, or shower facilities at the race site.
