We Need to Talk About Chevin
"We Need to Talk About Chevin" is a challenging fell race held in Otley, starting and finishing on Station Road near The Black Horse pub, which serves as race HQ and offers post-race refreshments. The main race covers 14km (9 miles) with 650m (2130ft) of elevation, featuring tough climbs including the infamous Chevin Steps, Surprise View, Danefield climb, and a loop through Poolscar Wood and Fells Plantation. The terrain includes dirt, rocky ground, grass, and footpaths.
A shorter 9km (5.5 miles) race called "Chevin is BS" offers a slightly less demanding option. Both races require navigational skills, have partial course markings, and provide water stations. The event fosters a supportive atmosphere with medals, prizes, and a complimentary pint for finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
