We Need To Talk About Chevin is a fell running event organised by Great Owl Running in Otley, West Yorkshire. It takes place on 21 March 2026 with a limit of 200 entries. Entry fees are shown between £12 and £19. The race headquarters and registration are at The Black Horse, where post-race refreshments and toilet facilities are available. All finishers receive a complimentary pint of Craven ale. Medals and event t-shirts are optional extras offered at entry.

Course and logistics

Distances and climb:

  • 14 km - 650 m climb
  • 9 km - 390 m climb

Terrain includes dirt, rocky ground, grass and footpaths. The longer event is classified as a Category BM fell race; the shorter event is Category BS. The courses are partially flagged and require basic navigation skills; a map is provided at registration and use of digital navigation equipment is not allowed under FRA rules. Checkpoint 5 on the main course has a 70-minute cut-off; runners reaching it later will be sent back to the start via the return route. There are no team races or junior races listed. Small bags and layers may be left at a designated start/finish area. The event is cupless and runners are required to bring their own water container.
