Elgin Valley Fox Trot - Elgin, IL
The Elgin Valley Fox Trot is marking its 50th running on June 6, 2027, in Elgin, Illinois, at 300 N Grove Ave. The event offers several timed races and a non-timed walk that use neighborhood streets and the Fox River Trail. The 10-mile course is USATF certified and routes through Elgin’s north end toward Dundee before returning on Grove Avenue. The 10-mile includes a timed segment on Cedar Avenue during the ninth mile with a special prize for the fastest male and female on that segment.
Distances offered:
- 10 miles USATF certified course.
- 5K through the historic north end neighborhood.
- 5K Youth (19 and under) same course and start as the 5K Open.
- 2K Fun Walk along the Fox River Trail, untimed; participants receive a tee shirt and bib.
Registration opens September 1, 2026. Registration for the 10-mile and 5K closes January 1, 2027; youth and 2K walk registrations continue through June 6, 2027. Listed registration fees include $50 for the 10-mile, $35 for the 5K, $20 for the 5K Youth, and $20 for the 2K with a team discount to $15 each for four or more walkers.
A postrace party and awards are planned, and proceeds will benefit ten area non-profit organizations whose members will assist as volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
