Elgin Valley Fox Trot 50th Anniversary
The Elgin Valley Fox Trot takes place in Elgin, Illinois on June 6, 2027, with the event base at 300 N Grove Ave. The program includes multiple distances and community activities.

The 10 mile course is USATF certified and follows Elgin’s north end neighborhoods toward Dundee along the Fox River Trail, returning downhill on Grove Avenue. There is a notable climb on Cedar Avenue around the ninth mile; the Cedar Hill Challenge awards prizes to the top male and top female in each 10 mile age group for the fastest time up that hill.
The 5K begins at the corner of Grove Avenue and Ann Street and winds through the historic north end neighborhood, finishing with a downhill on Grove Avenue. The youth 5K uses the same course as the 5K open race; youth entries are available at a reduced fee and a traveling trophy called "The Fox" recognizes the area high school with the most competitors.
The 2K Fun Walk follows the Fox River Trail, is not timed, and includes an entry bib and an event tee shirt. Team and family discounts are offered for the walk. The races benefit ten area non-profits and the event includes a postrace party with awards, sponsor expo, music, food trucks, and other amenities.
