Wolfpack 5K: The Great Turkey Chase
The event is an inaugural 5K run/walk hosted on Prairie Ridge High School property in Crystal Lake, with the course briefly entering the adjacent Squaw Creek neighborhood. The course will not be certified for this first running, and chip timing with bibs will be used for official results. Registration fee is $40.00.
A "Pass the Poult" challenge adds a timed element: a baby turkey, called a poult, will run the course and participants who finish ahead of the poult receive an additional prize. T-shirts are included with registration and are guaranteed only for entries received by October 25, 2026.
Advanced packet pickup is available at Prairie Ridge High School on Friday, November 20, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Stadium ticket building. Same-day pickup is in the Prairie Ridge cafeteria from 8:45 am to 9:50 am. Lineup for announcements and a brief warm-up will begin outside the cafeteria near the stadium at 9:45 am. Results will be available immediately and awards can be collected at the awards station in the cafeteria staging area.
Awards include overall top male and female finishers and the top three male and female age-group winners (overall excluded) in these categories: 9 & Under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 & Over.
The Prairie Ridge High School Booster Club is the event sponsor. The event proceeds support the club’s general fund for spring allocations that benefit sports, clubs, and activity groups. The event will be held rain or shine; there are no refunds and unclaimed packets will be donated. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
