About the race
The Sunrise Series is a four-race running series in El Paso composed of four 5 km events held at different locations across the city. Each live event and its virtual counterpart share the same distance and a common registration fee of $35 per event. Completing all four events earns participants the complete Sunrise Series medal; each event also has its own unique medal.
Event dates and locations are: May 29 at Eastside Sports Complex, June 12 at Ascarate Park, June 26 in the northeast area of the city, and July 17 at Braden Aboud Park. Live events include age group awards for the top three finishers in each age group and team awards to the largest teams at the series finale. Cash prizes are awarded to the overall fastest male and female finishers at the season finale for participants registered in all four live events. Virtual events do not receive awards.
Packet pickup is held on the Thursday and Friday before each event at an event-specific location; there is no race day pickup. Virtual participants may collect swag at packet pickup, at the final event pickup, at a catch-all after party, or receive mailed packets after August 1, 2027. Each event offers a unique giveaway and certain shirt or tank sizes are guaranteed only to the first 800 registrants who register by May 1, 2027. Events feature a runner party with vendors, raffles, refreshments and a free photo booth. Wheelchairs and strollers are allowed on course. Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, wagons, scooters and motorized devices are not allowed. Pets are permitted on leash and must be attended and cleaned up after.
