The event takes place February 27-28, 2027 in Downtown El Paso, Texas. It comprises several in-person and virtual races across different distances and a kids dash.

The marathon returns to a downtown finish, which provides a net decline on the course. The Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon and for the Abbott WMM MTT Age Group Marathon World Championships. Past editions have attracted runners from nearly every U.S. state and from countries such as Mexico and France.
Age eligibility listed by event includes marathon ages 18 to 100, half marathon ages 12 to 100, 5K ages 8 to 100, and the Kid's Dash ages 1 to 11.
