Edison Festival of Light 5K - Fort Myers
The Edison Festival of Light 5K is a road race held in downtown Fort Myers on February 21, 2026. The course begins south of Edwards Drive on Jackson Street and runs along streets that are lined with an estimated 200,000 cheering spectators for the adjacent Grand Parade.
Proceeds benefit the Edison Festival of Light, a 501(c)(3) organization that works with local non-profit and for-profit groups to promote the arts, culture and history of Fort Myers and Southwest Florida. Packet pick-up and pre-race registration are offered before the race; a QR code is provided at pre-race packet pick-up and credit cards are accepted for on-site registration.
Event parking is available at the Monroe Street Parking Garage and the Main/Jackson Street Parking Garage; there is no parking at the race site. The first 400 participants are guaranteed a unisex dry-fit shirt. Timing is provided with ChronoTrack Bib Tag technology; the timing strip is attached to the race number and should remain visible and flat on the front of the running shirt.
Awards include overall and masters categories based on gun time, age-group awards three deep based on chip time, and team awards with specified minimums. A heat warning notes that temperatures and humidity can be high and recommends hydration and attention to heat-injury symptoms. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
