About the race
The East Lothian Triathlon Festival takes place in Haddington on 30 Aug 2026 and is delivered by East Lothian Triathlon Club. The festival includes the Laser Are Us Scottish National Team Relay Club Championships and seven other races on the day, plus separate kids and youth aquathlon events. Races use local facilities and roads. Pool swims take place at Aubigny Sports Centre.
Bike routes run on quiet country roads around Haddington but remain open to traffic. Run courses are mainly on pavements and include riverside sections around Haddington. Events are run under Triathlon Scotland rules; competitors are responsible for knowing the rules and the course.
All bikes must be roadworthy and helmets are compulsory. The bike course is non drafting and time trial bikes are allowed. Entrants must be 16 years or older.
Places are allocated first come first served and the closing date for entries is 16 Aug 2026. Key course distances and formats - Sprint Triathlon individual: 750 m swim, 24 km bike, 2 x 2.5 km run - Novice Triathlon: 200 m swim, 11 km bike, 1 x 2.5 km run - Sprint Duathlon: 2 x 2.5 km run, 24 km bike, 1 x 2.5 km run - Novice Duathlon: 1 x 2.5 km run, 11 km bike, 1 x 2.5 km run - Sprint Triathlon relay: teams of three, one stage each - 10 km run: two laps of a 5 km loop from Neilson Park - Relay Championship: double club points and a subsidised Race Pass for teams.
