Thirlestane Castle Fundraiser 5k and 2k
This event on 25 Aug 2026 offers two running distances on the grounds of Thirlestane Castle. The course begins in front of the castle and finishes at the car park on site (TD2 6RU). The event is a fundraiser to help an individual pursue a football scholarship opportunity in America. The castle has given one off permission for the event to take place on its grounds.
Distances
- 5k for adults (16+)
- 2k for under 16s
Race numbers are issued on arrival at a registration station located in the small car park just past the eagle gates. The event is not chip timed. A small on-site car park through the eagle gates is available for parking. Bags may be left at the registration desk at the owner’s risk.
All finishers receive a medal, a bottle of water and a traybake. Trophies are awarded to first male and first female overall and to first boy and first girl. There is no time limit for completing the course. The route is not suitable for prams and dogs are not permitted. No refunds are available. Attendees are asked to take away rubbish and to place empty water bottles in recycling bags at the car park.
