Thirlestane Castle Fundraiser 5k and 2k
This event takes place on 25 August 2026 on the grounds of Thirlestane Castle. It comprises two timed races held on castle grounds with start and finish locations on site.
Distances
- 5k for ages 16 and over
- 2k for under 16s
The race starts in front of the castle and finishes at the car park. Race numbers are issued on arrival at the castle; the registration station is in the small car park just past the Eagle gates. This is not a chipped event.
Parking is outside the castle with access on foot through the castle gates to the small car park. Participants may leave bags at the registration desk at their own risk. Finishers receive a medal, a bottle of water and a traybake. Trophies are awarded for first male and first female and for first boy and first girl.
There is no official time limit, the route is not suitable for prams and dogs are not allowed. No refunds are available. Attendees are asked to take away their rubbish and to place empty water bottles in recycling bags at the car park.
Entry pricing includes a service fee of 4 percent with a minimum of 50 p. Early prices apply to limited first places; later prices apply until the closing date of 23 August 2026 23:59.
