Earth Day 5K
The Earth Day 5K is a night race held in Long Beach, California. This event, now in its second year, takes place on an out-and-back course along the beach boardwalk. Participants run directly alongside the sand and the Pacific Ocean.
The meeting point is located by the Belmont Brewing Company at the start of Veterans' Pier. Runners follow the beach path for the duration of the 5 km distance. The event is sponsored by AREC and inclusion in the race counts toward Century Club totals for members of that organization.
Participants receive a finisher's bib and a specific Earth Day medal upon completion. Recognition is provided for competitive finishes, with additional medals awarded to the first, second, and third place male and female runners. Race results are published online within 36 hours of the conclusion of the event. After finishing the course, the venue at Belmont Brewing Company is available for food and drinks.
