SoCal's Cinco de Miles events
This event takes place at Bolsa Chica State Beach (Lot 25) in Huntington Beach, California. It includes multiple running distances, live mariachi and folclórico performances, and food options on site. Every finisher receives a custom cast medal; the medals have moving parts and the event provides a soft technical shirt with a full front-and-back design that changes each year.
Race timing uses RFID chip timing provided by Itz About Time, and age-division awards are offered with awards three deep in 5-year spans across many age groups. Top overall trophies are awarded to male and female finishers, and there are awards for the oldest and youngest finishers. Children’s events and a family fun run are included.
Parking is available via the main gate at 17851 Pacific Coast Highway; there is a gate fee of $15 by credit card per car or a park pass. Limited free and hourly parking is available nearby behind a Jack in the Box on PCH and Warner and along the inner road in Sunset Beach. Pets are allowed on leash (recommended 5 ft or less) and strollers may be used at participants’ own risk; both should line up toward the back and keep to the side on course. Restrooms are in the public buildings at the end of each parking lot. The event will proceed rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
