Event
The Hoag OC Marathon Running Festival is a weekend running event held on the first weekend in May at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, California. The festival weekend includes a large youth component, the Hoag Kids Run the OC, which involves nearly 9,000 children from over 150 Orange County schools. Saturday features the CELEBRATE OC Festival with local sports teams, craft brews, brand exhibitors and live music, and an afternoon 5K around the OC Fairgrounds and nearby Orange Coast College. Sunday includes marathon and half marathon races that pass coastal and inland parts of Orange County and finish at the OC Fair and Event Center.

Course and charity
The marathon and half marathon course features coastal scenery and Pacific Ocean views, runs along Pacific Coast Highway through Corona del Mar, passes Upper Newport wetlands, the Arts District and South Coast Plaza, and goes through diverse neighborhoods. Project Youth OC has been an official charity partner since 2004; peer-to-peer fundraising supports mentorship, education and support services for youth and families.
