Event

Eagle Up Ultra is held in early June 2026 at St. Helena Park in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The event has run for ten years and has attracted runners from over 40 states and three countries. Distances offered include:

  • 24-hour individual
  • 25K (added in 2025)
  • Relay teams aiming for 100 miles

Registration closes on June 4, 2026.

Course and logistics

The course is a 5-mile loop that starts and finishes in St. Helena Park, runs south on the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath to Butterbridge Road, and returns on the Olde Muskingum Trail, passing through the park camping area to complete the loop. Surfaces are packed crushed limestone for most of the loop and short-cut grass through the camping area; road shoes are suitable. Relay teams may have one team member on the course at a time and use a designated exchange at the start/finish; teams may continue to accrue distance within the event period.

Support and rules

One main aid station is at the park pavilion. Water is provided on the course at about mile 1, mile 2.5 and mile 4. Only runners and their pacers may use the aid station area; relay runners should not wait there. Pacers may join a runner after that runner completes two loops, with only one pacer at a time; pacers may use aid station food and drink and do not require separate registration. The park is used for free camping for runners; RV space is limited. The event is cupless, so runners must carry a reusable cup. Each runner receives one complimentary beer from Lockport Brewery; additional beer and branded pint glasses are available for purchase. Finishing medals and buckles are presented immediately upon completing a chosen distance. No age-group awards are given; there is special recognition for military veterans and those currently serving. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
