Olympic Venue Triathlon
The Dorney Triathlon takes place at Dorney Lake in Windsor, a venue previously used for Olympic competition. The event features a variety of multi-sport disciplines held on flat, scenic grounds with clear water, providing a closed-course environment away from open-road traffic. All participants receive chip timing for their races.
This event is classified as draft-illegal. To participate, athletes must hold a British Triathlon race licence, which can be obtained through an annual membership or by purchasing a single-use race pass during registration.
Athletes can choose from several formats and distances:
- Super Sprint: 400m swim, 10km bike, and 2.5km run.
- Sprint: 750m swim, 19km bike, and 5km run.
- Standard: 1500m swim, 38km bike, and 10km run.
- Aquabike: Swim and bike only, available in Sprint and Standard distances.
- Relay: Teams of 2 or 3 individuals sharing the disciplines, available in Sprint and Standard distances.
The venue offers free parking for participants. Wetsuit hire is also available for those who do not have their own equipment. The event includes multiple categories based on age and gender for the different distance options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
