North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge

The North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge takes place on Saturday 1 August 2026, based at Guildford with Loseley Park listed as the event start and finish location. The event uses looped routes across the Surrey hills and sections of the North Downs Way, with varied countryside and southward views noted on the route.

Distances offered include:

  • 50 km loop, approximately 830 m elevation.
  • 25 km loop, approximately 530 m elevation.
  • 10 km loop, approximately 230 m elevation.
  • A ~24 km point to point option from Guildford to Milton Court near Dorking, approximately 600 m elevation.

The event provides multiple support services. Covered rest stops appear roughly every 12.5 km, with a meal or larger food stop about every 25 km. Rest stops include seating, toilets, medical staff, massage and baggage pickup. The route is signed and marked and GPS tracking is available through the organiser app. A timing system scans progress at rest stops.

Category options include Ultra March for walkers aiming for timed targets, and the new Trailblazerz category for faster runners. There is a Solo Start option, camping and adjacent university style en suite accommodation offered as bookable extras. Shuttle buses, parking and transfers are arranged for travel to and from the basecamp.

Finishers receive a medal, a t shirt, a finisher meal and a photo at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
