North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge, Guildford
The North Downs 50 is a looped trail event based at a Guildford basecamp in Surrey, scheduled for Saturday 1 August 2026. Routes follow sections of the North Downs Way and Surrey hills, offering varied countryside terrain and views to the south. The event offers individual and team entries and has specific categories for walkers and competitive runners.
Distances available:
- 50 km loop, Loseley Park start and finish, ~830 m elevation
- 25 km loop, Loseley Park start and finish, ~530 m elevation
- 10 km loop, Loseley Park start and finish, ~230 m elevation
- ~24 km route to Milton Court, near Dorking, ~600 m elevation, optional return transfer
Support and event services include covered marquee rest stops every ~12.5 km, snack stations and meals approximately every 25 km, hot and cold drinks, catering for dietary requirements, and a hot finishers meal. Routes are fully signed with course arrows and GPS mapping via the event app; participants are tracked by a timing system that logs progress at rest stops. Medical teams, paramedics, podiatrists and massage therapists are available at rest stops and on the route. Camping options, shuttle transfers to nearby train stations, and parking are provided. Entry choices include self funding and several charity fundraising options. The event also offers an Ultra March category for target-paced walkers, a new Trailblazerz category for time-targeted runners, and a solo start option.
