Saturn Running - Have You Ever Seen A Nessie in The Thames Charity Run
This is a charity Time Challenge event held by Saturn Running along a stretch of the River Thames in Staines. The event raises money for The Mental Health Foundation through a mandatory surcharge and optional donations that are matched by the organiser. A compulsory £2 surcharge on every race entry is donated in full to the charity. An optional £3 donation adds a mini Nessie pin and is matched by Saturn so local rehoming centres receive £6 for each pin option selected. Ten percent of race profits are also donated.
The event runs as a seven hour Time Challenge with flexible distances. The minimum recorded distance is 3 km and a full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) though the loop length may change. Turn points at 3 km and 5 km are provided to meet UK Athletics age rules.
