Saturn Running : Have You Ever Seen A Nessie in The Thames Charity Run
Saturn Running stages a charity Time Challenge along the River Thames from The Last Hop in Staines. The event raises funds for The Mental Health Foundation; a £2 surcharge on every race is donated in full, and an optional £3 donation buys a mini Nessie pin that Saturn will match. Ten percent of event profits are also donated. Members receive a lower entry price, guaranteed entry and a mini pin.
The event is a 7 hour Time Challenge that lets participants choose how many laps to run. The minimum distance is 3 km. A full lap is approximately 7 km (about 4.37 miles) though course length may change depending on conditions. There are 3k and 5k turn points for younger runners. Typical lap counts are 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon and 7 or more for an ultra; a 50 km option is available.
