District 19
District 19 is organized by District Running Collective and takes place Sunday, October 4, 2026 in Anacostia, Washington, DC 20020. The event was created to reclaim space, build community, and use running as a form of activism, with a focus on storytelling, culture, and the city.
The event is run crew led and is described as an unsanctioned road and trail run that weaves through all corners and quadrants of the District. All courses start and end at the same location and course markers will guide participants along the route.
Distances include:
- 19 Miler near marathon distance; includes official t-shirt, post-race snack, and finisher medal.
- 19K (11.8 miles) near half marathon distance; includes official t-shirt, post-race snack, and finisher medal.
- 5K (3.1 miles) fun run or race option; includes official t-shirt, post-race snack, and finisher medal.
Entrants are assigned to corrals based on submitted times; those without a submitted time are placed in the last corral. Race entry sales are final and non-refundable. Entry fees increase after August 31, 2026.
Race day safety guidance asks participants to keep bibs visible, be aware of surroundings, consider leaving one earbud out when listening to music, and follow pedestrian and traffic rules since roads will not be closed to runners.
