Food for Others Tysons 5K & Fun Run
The Food for Others Tysons 5K & Fun Run is a community athletic event held at Tysons Corner Center in Virginia. The event focuses on raising awareness for food insecurity within the Northern Virginia and DMV regions. The race village is located at PenFed Plaza, an outdoor space situated near local landmarks such as Barrel & Bushel and Shake Shack.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Virtual Runner
The 5K event is professionally timed, while the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is an untimed event. Registered participants receive a commemorative bib and a t-shirt, with shirt availability guaranteed for those who register by mid-September. The event features a race hub with a live DJ, food, and coffee for attendees. Free digital photos are provided after the event, which are searchable by bib number.
A specific feature of this event takes place after the finish line, where participants and volunteers have the opportunity to write inspirational messages. These notes are shared with students in the Power Pack Program, an initiative that provides weekend meal packs to thousands of students throughout the school year.
Parking is available at Tysons Corner Center in Garage E, which connects to the Hyatt Regency. Levels 3, 5, and 6 provide access to elevators or stairs leading to the plaza on level 4. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
