Event overview
The Food & Friends 5k & 10k takes place on October 10 at Rock Creek Park, Washington, DC. The event supports the Food & Friends charity, which provides home-delivered medically tailored meals and nutrition services to people with serious illnesses. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Distances
- 5k: out-and-back course, two water stations.
- 10k: two laps, five water stations, mostly flat paved route with one considerable hill.
Race features and logistics
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before Sept 30; extra shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees listed are $30 for the 5k and $45 for the 10k until Sept 30 (prices increase after that and by $5 on race morning). Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to arrive about one hour before the race to check in. There will be restrooms across from the Tennis Center and parking at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center.
Results and awards
Live results will be posted online and via a QR code at the race. Final results with series points will be posted the Monday following the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in several age categories; overall top three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
