5K Walk-Run Soul Fitness Weekend
The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc., in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Iota Gamma Omega Chapter, presents a hybrid 5K walk and run held across two days in late September 2027. The event includes both in-person and virtual participation options. The in-person portion takes place at Watkins Regional Park, 301 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774, on September 25, 2027, and features live Zumba and health vendors.
Virtual options allow participants to complete the 5K from any location, including roads, trails, tracks, treadmills, or gyms, and participants time their own effort. Registration for the standard walk and run entries opens May 3, 2027 and closes September 11, 2027; standard entry fees are $35.00. Separate sponsorship tiers and virtual sponsor registrations remain available through September 26, 2027 and include benefits such as sponsor recognition on the race information page, promotional materials in the virtual race packet, and a set number of race registrations and event shirts depending on the tier.
Proceeds support mental health awareness and research, efforts to address childhood hunger, and other local community programs.
