5K Walk-Run Soul Fitness Weekend
The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc., in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Iota Gamma Omega Chapter, presents a hybrid 5K event over the weekend of September 26-27, 2026. The in-person portion takes place at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro on September 26 and includes live Zumba and health vendors. Virtual participation options are available for both the 5K run and the 5K walk, along with virtual wellness activities.
Virtual 5K participants may complete the distance from any location and may walk, jog, or run on the road, trail, treadmill, gym, or track and record their own time. Standard participant registration opens May 4 and participant registration closes September 12; the listed participant fee is $35. Sponsorship opportunities are available through several tiers with fees ranging from $100 to $500. Sponsorship packages include promotional placement on the race info page, inclusion in virtual race packets, and a specified number of race registrations and t-shirts; some higher tiers offer an optional 30 minute Zoom session.
Funds raised from the event will support mental health awareness and research, efforts to address childhood hunger, and other local community programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
