Demarest 5K
The Demarest 5K takes place at County Road School, 130 County Road, Demarest, NJ 07627. The program features a five-kilometer road race, pre-race announcements, a warm-up and national anthem, a start-line photo, post-race refreshments and live music, a Hero Fun Run and an awards ceremony. Day-of race registration and bib pick-up are available.
Registration options include a Demarest 5K Only entry with a specified registration window and fee, and a Principal's Challenge entry with a separate registration window and fee. The Demarest 5K Only entry has an established registration opening and closing date and a fixed entry fee. The Principal's Challenge has its own registration period and a stated individual child fee.
The Principal's Challenge is a gradual training program run at the three Demarest schools leading up to the 5K. Demarest school children in grades K through 8 participate and run weekly with their principal and parent or teacher volunteers to build healthy habits, stamina and sportsmanship. Participation in the Principal's Challenge entitles children to run in the 5K without additional registration. A Family Value Rate covers three to five family members for a stated fee and requires each registrant to sign up for the Principal's Challenge event and select multi-person pricing.
