Demarest 5K - May 17, 2026

The Demarest 5K is held at County Road School in Demarest, New Jersey. The event offers two main registration options: Demarest 5K Only and the Principal's Challenge, which includes participation in the 5K. The Principal's Challenge entry is listed at $60 per individual child or a $130 family value rate for three to five family members.

Registration opens on February 1, 2026. Participants who register for the 5K by April 12 are guaranteed a race shirt; registrations after that date receive shirts while supplies last.

The Principal's Challenge is a gradual training program run at each Demarest elementary school in the weeks before the event. Children in grades K-8 run weekly with their principal and coaches to develop habits, stamina, and sportsmanship, and then take part in the 5K alongside other community participants.

After the 5K, an annual Fun Run takes place and is available for community participation. The event is described as a long-standing tradition in the Northern Valley that brings together children, families, and runners from surrounding areas.
