Event Overview
The Caldwell Classic is a community running event on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The event is organized by the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation (CWCEF) and serves as a memorial, honoring the legacies of the foundation's two founding members.
Events
The event features two separate activities:
- A timed 5K run/walk
- A non-timed 1 Mile Family Fun Run
A separate Children's Dash for participants up to 5 years old is also listed.
Location and Schedule
All activities are based at James Caldwell High School on 265 Westville Ave in West Caldwell, New Jersey. The event site opens for registration and bib pickup. A detailed schedule for the day is provided, including the start of the fun run and the 5K.
Course and Amenities
The 5K route starts and finishes at the high school, traveling on Westville Ave, through a park, past a pond, and along Brookside Ave. A water station is available every mile. The 1 Mile course is a loop starting at the high school, using Woodmere Rd, Lane Ave, and Westville Ave.
Early bib pickup is available on the Friday before the event at a physical therapy location in Caldwell. Tentative elementary school pickups are also scheduled for the week prior.
Awards and Features
For the 5K, awards are given to the top male and female overall finishers, as well as to the top three males and females in numerous age categories. All registered participants receive a finisher medal. The event site includes a children's area with activities, a DJ, music, a fire truck, and sponsor giveaways.
