De Soto Days 5K-9 and Family Fun Run
The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, in De Soto, Kansas at 8850 Sunflower Road, 66018. This is the fifth annual 5K-9 and Family Fun Run and follows the De Soto Days festival. The event is presented by the local rescue Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary. The event program includes a 5K-9 Run, a Family Fun Run, and a Virtual Dog Jog. Listed entry fees are $35 for the 5K-9 Run, $20 for the Family Fun Run, and $30 for the Virtual Dog Jog. Online registration closes August 25, 2026 at 10:30 am CDT.
Participation and logistics
Each human registrant will receive a bib with official timing and post-race snacks. There will be snacks and water provided for dogs. Dogs may join the in-person events at no additional charge. Dogs must be friendly with people and other dogs and must be up to date on vaccinations. Virtual participants may join from anywhere, on any day, and at any distance; they are invited to share photos of their run.
