Autism Society of the Heartland 5K and 1K Fun Run
This event on April 17, 2027 is a community run and walk held at Aspiria, the former Sprint Campus in Overland Park, Kansas (5750 Sprint Parkway). The program offers two main running distances:
- 5K
- 1K
In-person 5K registrants receive chip timing. All in-person finishers of the 5K and 1K receive a finisher's medal. Participants may order a race t-shirt separately from registration.
A special registration category for children five years old and under allows participation in either the 5K or the 1K without timing. Exhibitor registration is available for a vendor and resource fair that showcases services and support for families affected by autism; exhibitor registration includes one six foot table and two folding chairs and exhibitors receive information about table location in advance.
The event benefits people connected to the autism community in Kansas and Missouri. It is planned as an all weather run or walk and will proceed unless the race director determines weather conditions are unsafe, in which case the race will be cancelled.
