Event overview
The 2026 DC Mother’s Day race offers 5k and 10k distances in Georgetown, Washington, DC (3530 Water St NW). The course runs along the C&O Canal on a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and is an out-and-back. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Points from the race count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Spring Series. A virtual race option is available.

The event is chip timed. Runners receive a finisher’s medal and a technical drifit event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before April 29 and extra shirts are available first-come first-served after that date. The 10k course has three water stations at approximately miles 1.5, 3.1, and 4.65. The 5k course has one water station at approximately mile 1.5; Gatorade is available at some stations. Packet pickup is available at the event. There is no on-site race registration for this race. Live results and final results with series points are posted after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to top finishers in age categories from 19 and under through 70 plus. Volunteers are assigned tasks on race morning.
