2027 DC Mother's Day 5k & 10k
This event stages a scenic, flat 5k and 10k in Georgetown, Washington DC, running along the C&O Canal. The course is an out-and-back on a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change.

Points from these races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and toward the Spring Series. A virtual run option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical DriFit event shirt, and chip timing. Packet pickup is available at the event and there is no on-site race registration. Water stations are placed approximately at mile markers 1.5, 3.1, and 4.65 on the 10k and at about mile 1.5 on the 5k; Gatorade is available at some stations. Port-a-johns are located near the check-in area.
Awards are presented to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age categories. For the 5k only, the 19 and under bracket is expanded into ages 1 to 7, 8 to 12, and 13 to 19. Banditing is not allowed and violators may be removed or disqualified. Live results are posted online and a QR code at the race provides immediate access; final results with series points appear on the Monday after the event.
