Crotty's Lake
Crotty's Lake is an Irish Mountain Running Association event set in the Comeragh Mountain area of County Waterford on Saturday 12 September 2026. The course is held on private land with the landowner's permission. There is ample car parking with a charge of €2 per car. Entries show Places: 5 / 250 entered. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open Monday 7 September 2026 at 21:00 and close Friday 11 September 2026 at 18:00.
Distances:
- 7.00 km - 250 m climb
- 5.00 km - Short course / junior route; marshal at turnaround
The event difficulty classification is 7 (Difficult Terrain, 200 m to 500 m ascent, 6 km to 10 km). The route is fully marked and the use of GPS is not allowed. Mandatory kit is Level A Basic: a showerproof, windproof jacket must be worn or carried for the duration of the race. The final kit list may be confirmed on the day and runners should have the means to carry required items. Failure to carry required kit may result in denial of entry or disqualification; random checks may occur.
There will be a junior route of approximately 5 km. Children under 10 must be accompanied on the route by a guardian or parent. There will be no early start. Registration opens at 09:45 and closes at 10:45. Prize giving will take place at the finish area. The loop around Crotty's Lake is technical and can be slippy even on dry days, so trail footwear with good grip is advisable. Headphones are not permitted during IMRA races.
