Event Details

The Crotty's Lake event is a mountain run taking place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, on the Comeragh Mountains in County Waterford. The main race distance is 8 km with a total climb of 410 meters. A shorter course of approximately 5 km is also available.

Course and Terrain

The terrain is described as difficult. The loop section around Crotty's Lake is noted as quite technical and slippery, even on dry days. The event uses only major junction marking, and the use of GPS devices is not allowed.

Logistics and Requirements

Parking is available on-site at a cost of €2 per car. Registration opens at 9:45 AM and closes at 10:45 AM. All participants must bring a showerproof, windproof jacket (Level A kit). The final decision on whether this kit must be carried during the race will be made on the day based on conditions. Headphones may not be used during the race.

Participation

The entry limit is 250 participants. Entry costs are €7 for seniors and €5 for participants over 65 or under 18 years old. There is a junior route of approximately 5 km, and participants under 10 years old must be accompanied by a guardian or parent on the race route. There is no early start option for the race.
