John Treacy Dungarvan 10 Mile
The John Treacy Dungarvan 10 Mile is an annual road race organised by West Waterford Athletic Club in Dungarvan, County Waterford. The course is described as a fast, flat 10 mile route that circles the town and begins on the Youghal Road. The event is permitted by Athletics Association of Ireland (A.A.I.).
Entries open on 1 December for A.A.I. club members using a life membership number, with remaining places released on 8 December. The race operates by pre-entry only and will close when 3,750 entries are reached. Race numbers are posted out the week before the event and there is strictly no entry on the day. The listed entry fee for the year shown is €45.
The event stages an annual prize programme with a prize fund of at least €6,000; cash prizes are awarded to the first ten men and the first ten ladies across the line. Results for past years are available online back to 2010, and entries have filled quickly in previous years. West Waterford Athletic Club, founded in 1994, fields both juvenile and adult sections and organises this event as part of its fixture calendar.
