About the race

The Brickey 5k is an annual road race held in the Brickey valley with the venue at Bushy Park GAA grounds. The event is sponsored by Murray’s Careplus Pharmacy and proceeds from the race are donated to Carriglea and Glenbeg national schools.

The course is a very flat, fast 5k loop that starts and finishes at Bushy Park GAA grounds. Number pickup takes place in the GAA clubhouse and prize-giving is held in the clubhouse after the race. Refreshments are provided for runners following the event.

Prizes include a cup for the first man on the day and a memorial shield for the first woman. The race is organised by West Waterford Athletic Club and is part of the club’s annual fixtures. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
