Waterford Half Marathon : event overview
The Waterford AC Half Marathon is scheduled for Saturday 28 November 2026 and typically attracts about 2,500 runners and joggers. The event is the club’s main fundraiser and supports youth coaching and other athletics activities in Waterford.
The race is held from the SETU Arena, West Campus, Carriganore, Co. Waterford (EIRCODE X91 XD96). The event is Athletics Ireland permit approved, fully insured, and the course has been measured and certified. Parking is available across three on-site carparks. Spectators can view the race at many points along the course; the SETU Arena provides sightlines for the start and finish and a short walk to the Waterford Greenway around miles 6–7.
Participant services and rules
All finishers receive a medal and the Waterford bobble hat. Water is provided at miles 3, 6, 9 and at the finish. Showers and toilets are available in the SETU Arena; portaloo facilities are located near the start. A bag drop inside the arena is operated with tagging by race number. The event provides pacers for approximate times of 1:30, 1:40 and 1:50. The final cutoff for participants is approximately 12:30.
Entry, transfers and race packs
The entry fee is €45 plus booking fee. There is no refund or deferral policy. Transfers may be completed through the original entry reference and via MyRunResults within published transfer windows; a name transfer fee of €5 applies. Race packs for entries made up to 22 November are posted to the address given; later entrants collect numbers and chips at the event helpdesk, which is located just inside the main door of the SETU Arena. Race results and timing are published on MyRunResults.
Event procedures
If a number is lost or not received, identification is required at the helpdesk to receive a replacement number. Participants are asked to dispose of waste responsibly using bins provided shortly after water stations and at the finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
