Event Overview
The Compton Verney Sprint Triathlon is a multi-discipline sports event held at Park Farm in the Warwickshire hamlet of Compton Verney. Now in its sixth year, the race is centered around a lake designed by Capability Brown. The event consists of a lake swim, a road cycling leg, and a multi-terrain run. There are no cut-off times for this sprint-distance event, and participants can enter as individuals or as part of a relay team.
Course Details
The triathlon features three distinct stages across the local landscape:
- 750 m swim: A single-lap lake swim where competitors enter in pairs using a trickle start.
- 23 km bike: A mostly flat course on country roads with approximately 181 m of elevation.
- 5 km run: A multi-terrain route through tracks, trails, meadows, and woodlands.
The cycling leg passes through local landmarks including the Edge Hill escarpment, Burton Dassett, Gaydon, and Kineton. The run course is firm underfoot, making both road and trail shoes suitable depending on weather conditions.
