Event

The Summer 10K is a 10k trail race at Coombe Abbey Park, Coventry, taking place on 10 July 2026. Entry is open to people aged 16 and over on the event date. The organiser is Big Bear Events. Entry uses a tiered pricing system and unaffiliated entrants pay an extra £2. A cut-off of effectively 2 hours is in place for medical cover and daylight considerations.

Course and facilities

The route runs through woodland, meadow and grass fields on undulating but not hilly terrain. Surfaces may be muddy, firm or hard depending on recent weather and include exposed tree roots, uneven ground and a few gates. The course is effectively two laps and visits the water station four times. Biodegradable cups with water and electrolyte will be provided on course; foldable or collapsible cups may be brought but are not required.

Parking on site is charged (up to £3 for 1-2 hours) and there is a toilet block next to the event HQ. Coombe Abbey Park is on the outskirts of Coventry (CV3 2AB), about six minutes from Junction 2 of the M6; the nearest train station is Coventry. A GPX of the route is available. The event has previously received a Racecheck Gold Award in 2024 and has over 150 reviews averaging 4.8 out of 5.

Other notes

Dogs are not allowed to run in the event. Participants may opt to support Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity during sign-up. The organiser offers an alternative to a medal via a tree token program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
