Summer 10K
The Summer 10K takes place at Coombe Abbey Park in Coventry. This venue is managed by Coventry City Council and is located six minutes from Junction 2 of the M6. The event is open to participants aged 16 and over.
The course covers a distance of 10 km through various natural terrains, including woodland, meadows, and grass fields. The ground conditions vary based on local weather and may include exposed tree roots, uneven surfaces, and several gates. The route is described as undulating rather than hilly.
The race provides on-course support with biodegradable cups containing water and electrolytes. While participants are welcome to bring their own collapsible cups, it is not a requirement for this distance. Due to the time of year and potential temperatures, running with dogs is not permitted.
Facilities at the site include a toilet block located next to the event headquarters. On-site parking is available for a fee. The event has an effective time limit of two hours, based on the availability of medical services. Participants receive a medal and goodies upon completion. Alternatively, runners can choose a tree token instead of a medal; this option results in a tree being planted and provides a token embedded with wildflower seeds.
