Tempo Summer 5K Series
The Tempo Summer 5K Series comprises three midweek 5K races held monthly from May to July, each staged on a Thursday evening and each based at a different location in Warwickshire/nearby. Races are open road events subject to permissions for full road closures.
Race 1 in Tysoe follows a flat out-and-back route on the road between Tysoe and Oxhill. Race 2 in Pebworth is a circular road route that uses Long Marsden Road and Dorsington Road and will have a full road closure. Race 3 is held on Alscot Estate, with a predominantly road route that includes a final 600 m of trail returning onto the estate for the finish.
Entries may be made per race or as a series at a reduced rate. Individual race entry fees are listed as different rates for affiliated and non-affiliated runners, and each race has a 250-runner limit for day entries. Race numbers are reused across races; entrants should keep the same number for each round. There are no water stations on course; runners should plan to carry their own water.
Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers on gun time. Runners who complete all three races receive a Tempo Events Summer Series T-shirt; the best placed male and female across all three races receive a series trophy. If injured, a runner may still qualify for the series memento by marshalling a race if the organiser is informed. Basic facilities include unattended bag gazebos, key storage, and toilets. Only bone conduction sports headphones are permitted on these open-road races.
The final race supports the local charity Friends of Stratford Hospital. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
