Compton Verney Half Marathon, 10K & 5K
The event is based at Compton Verney art gallery mansion house and uses public roads and village lanes around the estate. It offers three race distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The half marathon route leaves from the house, passes through Kineton, Little Kineton and Radway, climbs Pittern Hill around 11.5 miles and returns to finish on the lawns by the lake. The 10K follows much of the same early route and also climbs Pittern Hill before returning to Compton Verney. The 5K largely follows the 10K but diverts onto a public footpath across two fields before re-entering the grounds.
Parking is provided at Home Farm north-west of Compton Verney; race car park signs should be followed. Registration requires pre-entry; there are no entries on race day. Chips and race numbers are collected on race day. Baggage may be left at Registration near the finish and toilets are available inside the Compton Verney building.
Water is provided as follows: half marathon - four stations at about 2.5, 6, 9 and 11 miles offering water or High 5 energy drink; 10K - one station at 5 km; 5K - no water station. Prizes are awarded on the day: half marathon and 10K top three by gender and age-group prizes from 35 in 10-year increments with roll-down; 5K prizes for the top four by gender.
Entry fees include a small transaction fee. Refunds up to six weeks before the race are available less a £2 admin fee; after that refunds are not offered except by agreement or if the entrant marshals. In case of cancellation organisers will attempt to reschedule or offer a percentage refund or donation option depending on costs. Only bone conduction headphones are permitted on open roads; other in-ear devices are not allowed and use may affect results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
