Swan Challenge
The Swan Challenge takes place at Coombe Abbey Park near Coventry. The event is held at a venue featuring mature woodland, waterways, and open grassland. The course consists of a 3.3-mile lap primarily on stone pathways, with a section crossing a meadow. Participants can expect a relatively flat terrain with significant tree cover.
This event follows a 6-hour challenge format, allowing participants to complete as many laps as they choose within the time limit. Runners and walkers of various abilities navigate the course at their own pace. Based on the lap distance, completing four laps results in a half marathon, while eight laps equates to a full marathon. It is possible to cover distances ranging from a single 5k lap to over 50 miles.
The event base includes a headquarters with an adjacent cafe and toilet block. Parking is available on-site for a fee. The venue is located six minutes from Junction 2 of the M6, and the nearest rail link is Coventry station.
Participants have the choice between receiving a finisher's medal or opting for a tree token. The token program, in partnership with Earth Runs, results in a tree being planted and provides a wildflower seed token for the participant to grow at home. The event also supports a charitable partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
