C&O Canal 100
The C&O Canal 100 is a 100-mile ultramarathon held on the historic C&O Canal towpath in Maryland. The course is organized as one roughly 40-mile loop followed by two roughly 30-mile loops, with nearly every mile close to the Potomac River and visible Appalachian ridgelines. The route runs between Antietam and Brunswick and uses Camp Manidokan as the start, halfway point, and finish location.
Each loop includes about seven aid stations; runners will pass some stations multiple times. Distances between aid stations range from 3 to 6.9 miles. The course features low elevation changes and smooth towpath terrain, and it typically takes place in temperate spring conditions.
Volunteer crews staff the aid stations and provide food and drink along the route. The event is listed as a WSER 2027 qualifier. Registration for the event closes on Fri, Apr 17 at 11:59 PM ET.
