Firefighters Foundation 5k & 10k
This event offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The races take place on Henway Hard Cider and Great Country Farm property in Bluemont, Virginia, and benefit the Loudoun Career Firefighters Foundation. Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Sippin Series.
The course is an out and back route on a dirt road within the cidery property. There are no major elevation changes and the course is basically flat. The 10 km follows the out and back loop twice. Walkers are welcome and a virtual race option is available.
Runners receive one glass of Henway Hard Cider, a finisher medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before September 2; additional shirts are ordered for later registrants on a first come first served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered. Registration fees increase on race morning by $5 per distance.
Water stations are provided - the 10 km has three stations near miles 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65; the 5 km has one near mile 1.55. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
