About the race
CKF's 5K for Life is an awareness and fundraising event at Coffee Creek Preserve, 2401 Village Point, Chesterton, Indiana, scheduled for October 10, 2026. The event includes three 5K options: an adult 5K, a kids 5K, and a virtual 5K. Registration opens June 25, 2026 and closes October 10, 2026. Fees listed are $20 for adults, $15 for kids under 12, and $20 for the virtual entry.
Participants can register as individuals or as teams. Virtual participants have one week to complete the 5K and submit results; a T-shirt will be mailed after results are submitted. The event shares information about organ, eye, and tissue donation and highlights what transplant can make possible. The organizer notes that more than 103,000 people in the United States are awaiting transplant, while 44% of Americans are registered donors and 93% say they agree with organ donation. On-site features include music and local vendors.
