Duneland Half Marathon and 5K
The Duneland Half Marathon and 5K takes place on Sunday October 25, 2026 in Chesterton, Indiana. Both races start and finish at Dogwood Park and are routed primarily on the Duneland bike trail. The half marathon is certified under number IN20016TDK; the 5K is not certified.

Race features include a custom race shirt, custom finisher medals, timing mats at the starting line and chip timing for finish results, live results via text and email messaging, directional signs at all turns, and no processing fee for online signup. Finishers in both races earn Race the Region Series points. Water stops are located at miles 3, 6.5, and 9. The half marathon has a 3 hour 30 minute time limit and runner support concludes at 11:30 AM.
Awards are given overall and by age group. Half marathon awards include top overall male and female, top masters male and female (40 and over), and top three male and female in multiple age brackets from 14 and under through 75 and up. The 5K awards include top overall male and female, top masters male and female (40 and over), and top three male and female in age groups from 10 and under through 75 and up.
Packet pickup is available early at Extra Mile Fitness Company in Valparaiso on October 23 and 24 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Onsite packet pickup opens race day at 6:30 AM.
