Duneland Half Marathon and 5K : Chesterton, Indiana
The Duneland Half Marathon and 5K is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Chesterton, Indiana. The event features two distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5K Run/Walk
The half marathon course is certified (certification number IN20016TDK) and the course starts and ends at Dogwood Park, with most of the route on the Duneland bike trail. Timing mats at the starting line and chip timing at the finish provide electronic results, and live results are sent via text and email. All turns will have directional signs. Water stops are available at miles 3, 6.5, and 9.
Awards are given overall and by age group for both races, including masters categories for participants 40 and older. Finishers in both races earn points toward the Race the Region series.
Registration fees vary by date and by whether a race shirt is included; shirt sizes and availability are guaranteed only for registrations completed by October 10. Early packet pick-up is available at Extra Mile Fitness Company in Valparaiso on October 23 and 24 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Onsite packet pick-up opens on race day at 6:30 AM. Online registration remains open until the start of each race. Due to road closures, access to the start, finish, and parking is from the south on W 1100 N.
