Big Fat Greek 5K
The Big Fat Greek 5K is a community road race held at St. Iakovos Greek Orthodox Church, 36 W. 700N, Valparaiso, IN, on October 24, 2026. Registration opens July 15, 2026 and closes October 17, 2026. Entry fees vary by date: $30 before October 17, $35 from October 17 to October 23, and $40 on race day.
Early packet pick-up is available October 23 at Extra Mile Fitness Co., 3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, IN; the organizer also offers race day packet pickup. Participants receive a long sleeve technical running shirt and a $5 voucher for the post-race soup and Greek food sale. Shirt sizes and availability are guaranteed for registrations completed before October 10. Participants may decline the shirt to reduce the fee by $5.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, with trophies for overall places. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 12 and under, 13 to 18, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over.
