Event overview
The 11th Annual Chimpathon Run/Walk takes place on February 21, 2026 at Save the Chimps in Fort Pierce, FL. The event is held on the sanctuary’s 150-acre property, which houses nearly 220 rescued chimpanzees living in 12 island habitats. The course is a chip-timed loop that provides views of the habitats and chimpanzee family groups. Save the Chimps is not open to the public except on limited occasions; this event includes the full 5K/10K loop around the sanctuary.

Logistics, amenities, and impact
Packet pickup is scheduled on days prior to the race at Orange Theory Fitness in Port St. Lucie and at Walking Tree Brewery in Vero Beach; race-day pickup is available onsite. Race amenities include a finisher’s medal, a performance t-shirt, overall and age-group awards, post-race food and refreshments, and professional chip timing. Volunteers will manage parking at the sanctuary; there is a single entrance and vehicles will not be allowed to enter after the race has started.
