Event overview
The 11th Annual Chimpathon is a run/walk held on February 21, 2026, at Save the Chimps in Fort Pierce, Florida. The event takes place on the sanctuary grounds and includes a full loop around the property that is open to the public for this occasion. The course is described as flat and professionally chip-timed. The sanctuary is home to nearly 220 rescued chimpanzees living on island habitats. Logistics, amenities, and awards
Packet pickup is scheduled on days before the race at local partner locations and also available on race day onsite. Parking is managed by volunteers at the sanctuary; there is one entrance and vehicles will not be able to enter after the race has started. All participants receive a finisher’s medal and a performance t-shirt; overall and age-group awards are given.
