Champlain Islands Marathon and Half Marathon
The 55th GMAA Champlain Islands Marathon and Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2026. The event is based at Folsom Elementary School in South Hero, Vermont. The race program includes the following distances:

Course and race details
Both the marathon and half-marathon are certified (VT24002JK). The courses begin and end near the house where a seven-time Boston Marathon winner once lived. The half-marathon is an out-and-back route along the west shore of South Hero and Grand Isle. The course passes farmland, apple orchards, summer cottages, and views of Lake Champlain. The terrain is described as flat to rolling, and the entire course surface is paved. The full marathon consists of two laps of the half-marathon course.
