Cedarville Charge 5k & 10k
The event offers 5k and 10k road and trail races at Cedarville State Forest in Brandywine, Maryland. Points from these races count toward the year-long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and also toward the Winter Series. A virtual run option is available.
The course mixes trail and paved roads around the campgrounds with no major hills noted. The 10k is two laps of the 5k course. Water stations are located approximately at mile markers 1.5 for the 5k, and at 1.5, 3.1 and 4.6 on the 10k; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are onsite. Packet pickup is available at the event; organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the race to check in.
Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt and chip timing. Live results are posted during the race and final results with series points are published after the event. Runner tracking via SMS is offered during registration. Photos taken by staff are posted after the event.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place male and female in the listed age divisions; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Parking is available at Cedarville State Forest at 10201 Bee Oak Rd. A daily park entry fee applies and is the responsibility of participants.
