2026 National Harbor Turkey Trot 5k
The 2026 National Harbor Turkey Trot 5k is scheduled for November 25 at National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD. This is the inaugural edition and the course runs along the harbor area with views of the Potomac. The event is held the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and points from the race count toward the Year-Long 5k & Back of the Pack Series and the Fall Series.
The event is chip timed. Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal and a long-sleeved technical Drifit event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before November 13. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. The race benefits three charities and registrants may choose which charity they support.
Practical race details include packet pickup at the event, race day registration, and a note that t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants. The 5k course has one water station at approximately mile 1.55; Gatorade may be available at some water stations. Portajohns will be located at the start and finish. Live results will be posted on Athlinks with a QR code available at the race, and final results with series points will be posted to the organizer’s website the Monday after the event.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in multiple age categories. The organizer operates as an all weather event and may delay or cancel the race for safety reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
