Carlisle Santa Dash
The Carlisle Santa Dash is a festive charity event on Sunday 6 December 2026 at Sheepmount Athletics Stadium and Bitts Park in Carlisle, supporting Jigsaw Cumbria's Children’s Hospice. The event comprises two distances:
- 5K Santa Dash
- 2K Santa Fun Run / Walk
The 5K is manually timed and requires all runners to wear a Santa suit and a race number. The 2K Fun Run / Walk provides Santa suits for entrants; children aged 5 and over are offered sizes for 5 to 8 or 9 to 14, with an adult unisex suit also available. Entries under 5 are free. For ages 3 to 5 there is the option of an Elf suit with a medal or a Santa hat with a medal.
Santa suits and race numbers are distributed before the event at three collection points on 1, 3 and 5 December at local venues in Carlisle: Sheepmount car park (CA3 8XL), Carlisle College (CA1 1HS) and Morton Manor car park (CA2 7EZ). All suits are unisex and adults can select from the unisex or large youth suits.
All finishers receive a festive medal. The event route uses roads, pavements and underpasses around Bitts Park, Devonshire Walk and Castle Street. Ramps should be used for underpass access where provided; the Tullie House underpass exit uses stairs, and lifts are available at the Millennium Bridge and Tullie House underpass if operational.
