Carlisle Santa Dash
The Carlisle Santa Dash and Fun Run takes place on Sunday 6 December 2026 in Bitts Park, Carlisle. The event is organised to raise funds for the Jigsaw Charity, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, and aims to maximise the amount given to that charity.
The event consists of these distances:
- 5 km Santa Dash
- 2 km Santa Fun Run or Walk
The 5 km race will be manually timed. All runners in the Santa Dash must wear a Santa suit. Santa suits will be provided for Fun Run entries; children's suits are available in sizes for ages 5 to 8 or 9 to 14 and adult suits are one size fits all. Entries for children under 5 are free. Children aged 3 to 5 receive a medal, or a Santa hat and medal if preferred. All finishers receive a festive medal.
Organisers seek company support to cover event costs so that entry fees can go to the charity. Local clubs and event marshals volunteer their time free of charge. Suit collection points are scheduled in the days before the event at Sheepmount car park (CA3 8XL), Carlisle College (CA1 1HS) and Morton Manor car park (CA2 7EZ).
