Sport In Action Carlisle Resolution Runs
The event takes place on 17 January 2027 at Carlisle Race Course in England and offers two measured running distances. Both courses are officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers.
The 5 km course runs entirely on the racecourse and includes two laps of the ambulance track, which is traffic free and surfaced in tarmac. The 5 km finishes in front of the racecourse main stand. Course elevation figures are listed for the 5 km: elevation gain +161 ft, elevation loss -152 ft, maximum grade +3.5, minimum grade -4.2.
The 10 km route starts near Durdar Road about 400 yards from the racecourse entrance, follows rural roads with several turns, crosses a bridge via a marked route, and returns to finish in front of the main stand. A new permanent 10 km course is in use for 2027 and therefore has no established course records for that layout. Elevation for the new 10 km: gain +209 ft, loss -212 ft, max grade +2.5, min grade -2.8. Old course elevation figures are also provided.
Race numbers and timing chips are issued at race registration. A course risk assessment, maps, the permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at event HQ on race day. Prizes are awarded overall to the top three men and women and by age group according to competitor numbers. Withdrawals up until 18 December 2025 incur a 50% charge, after which no refunds are given.
